Breaking: Nkota Rejoins Pirates!

The reigning PSL champions Orlando Pirates have brought back one of their favoorite sons, Mohau Nkota.

The winger has rejoined the Buccaneers on a season-long loan from Saudi club Al-Ettifaq, whom he joined on a three-year contract last year.

Nkota returns home at a time when he has just recovered from a knee injury.

“Ettifaq approves for Mohau Nkota to join Orlando Pirates on a season-long loan,” confirmed the Asian club.

While Nkota didn’t have the best of times in Saudi Arabia, Pirates’s multitude of supporters would welcome him back with open arms. After all, his numbers for the 2026 MTN8 finalists make for a good reading.

The Kimberley-born starlet came through the Pirates reserves team and made 39 appearances for the first team, netting seven goals and five assists.

He went on to feature 22 times for Ettifaq, scoring twp goals and three assists.

All associated with the Buccaneers would be hoping he can put behind his difficult spell abroad and replicate the form that saw him make a name for himself in the black and white colours of the Soweto giants.
