In a recent event, Suryakumar Yadav tells his experience with Jainism and how it helped him during the T20 World Cup and the IPL
Suryakumar Yadav captained the Indian side to win the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup and had a tremendous run as a captain in the bilateral tournaments too. Now Yadav, who was removed from the captaincy without any farewell or prior notice, has come to the audience’s attention once again with an Instagram story. He talked about his journey during the World Cup and IPL and how Jainism has helped him transform his life.
“I follow Jainism. Recently, I played in a World Cup and did chanting with Namramuni ji during the IPL; it has made much of a difference. I have gone to a completely different level; I am quite calm now. Munaf and Stuart here know that I was never like this; now I am a completely changed character. There’s a lot of discipline in my life,” Suryakumar Yadav said during an event for the Jito Premier League.

This is not the first time that cricketers have publicly opened up about their religious ideologies. Virat Kohli in his early days, jokingly saying in a press conference, “Do I look like a puja path type?” And now visiting Premanand Maharaj ji regularly. After winning the T20 World Cup, head coach Gautam Gambhir took the trophy to Shree Siddhivinayak Temple while the team celebration was still going on.
