Nigeria’s Junior Female YellowGreens secured a spot in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier final after dismantling Rwanda U19 by nine wickets at the TCA Cricket Arena. The victory marks their fourth consecutive win of the tournament, maintaining an impressive unbeaten streak.

After choosing to bat first, Rwanda struggled to build momentum against a disciplined Nigerian attack and were bowled out for 65 in 19.1 overs. Captain and Player of the Match Christabel Chukwuonye spearheaded the collapse, taking 4 for 6 in 3.1 overs. Peace Usen (2/7) and Jennifer Godwin (2/7) provided tight support, leaving Thania Uwase Niyorukundo (20 off 28) as the only Rwandan batter to reach double figures.

Chasing 66, Nigeria recovered quickly from the early loss of Beauty Oguai (2). Omosigho Eguakun (35 off 29) and Shola Adekunle (26 off 26) put on an unbroken partnership to reach the target in just 10.4 overs, sealing an emphatic victory with nearly half their overs to spare.

Following wins over Uganda, Malawi, and Rwanda, Nigeria will face the winner of Zimbabwe vs. Uganda in the final. A victory in the championship match will complete a flawless campaign and secure their place on the world stage.
