United Arab Emirates cricketer Asif Khan has been handed a 15-month ban after admitting to an anti-doping violation involving a metabolite of the prohibited substance mesterolone.
The violation was detected through an out-of-competition test conducted on September 8, 2025. Asif acknowledged breaching Article 2.1 of the ICC Anti-Doping Code and agreed to the sanction through a Case Resolution Agreement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The suspension has been backdated to September 8, 2025, and will remain in effect until December 7, 2026. Under the terms of the ICC Anti-Doping Code, Asif can resume team training or use facilities of an ICC member organisation from October 8, 2026, but cannot return to competitive cricket until December 8.

His individual results recorded between September 8 and his provisional suspension on December 29, 2025, have also been disqualified. This includes the forfeiture of any medals, points, prize money and other awards resulting from those performances.
The case was settled through the agreement with WADA and the ICC, meaning Asif has no right of appeal against the sanction.
