Kaizer Chiefs have a number of injuries early in the season.
The latest to be part of the injury list is new signing Langelihle Phili. The 21-year-old attacker was injured during Amakhosi’s recent 2-2 draw with Richards Bay away midweek.
In terms of attack, Chiefs have most of their players fit and firing. It is in defence where Fernando Da Cruz has had a headache in the past few weeks with all his left-backs injured.
Kaizer Chiefs could a few players return from injuries
The positive news though is that defender Rushwin Dortley could return to action soon for the first time in 18 months.
“Dortley has started playing games,” Da Cruz said, as per KickOff.
“He played with us in a friendly last Friday; also yesterday [Tuesday] he played with the DDC. So we are giving him minutes, but we also want to take time with him to make sure that when he comes back, he will be ready 100%.”
Here’s some Kaizer Chiefs players on the sidelines;
The new attacker is sidelined for up to eight weeks with an ankle injury sustained following the midweek games.
Sidelined for up to two months following a severe injury picked up during pre-season. The Kaizer Chiefs left-back should return to action in September.
Out with a fractured arm from a pre-season match in July, expected to return around September.
Recovering from a longer-term Achilles tendon
