Martley Cricket Club are gearing up for what many would see as the biggest day in the club’s history on Sunday, September 6.
The village club will be hosting the Worcestershire Women’s Rapids in a 50 over a side Metro Bank Cup game against near neighbours Gloucestershire.
While the club have hosted many benefit and testimonial matches for Worcestershire players in the past, this is the first time they will have put on a match involving one of the county’s senior teams.
As well as cricket the club are putting on some pop-up food vans, and the club bar, the Tap and Run will be open for tea, coffee, cake and the usual array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day.
Spectators are advised to bring along their own seating.
The match gets under-way at 10.30am at the Jewry Field, entry is free and the postcode is WR6 6PQ.
