Mumbai: India’s opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sri Lanka pacer Asitha Fernando were fined 25% of their match fees for “inappropriate physical contact” during the first day’s play in the second Test at Colombo’s Sinhalese Sports Club Ground on Sunday.

Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sri Lankan bowler Asitha Fernando have been sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) following an on-field incident during the opening day of the second Test between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo, part of the ICC World Test Championship.
The ICC has fined India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sri Lanka’s Asitha Fernando 25% of their match fees and issued one demerit point each following an on-field altercation during the second Test in Colombo.
