Hailsham Town Council is urging residents to take part in its survey on women’s and girls’ sport, with only a few weeks remaining to have their say. Residents across Hailsham are being encouraged to complete a new online survey exploring the future of women’s and girls’ sport in the town, with the survey closing at the end of September. The Town Council wants to hear from residents of all ages and backgrounds, whether they currently participate in sport, volunteer with a club, support a team or simply have an interest in local sport and recreation.
The survey is an important opportunity for residents to share their experiences, highlight what is working well and identify where further improvements could be made. Responses will help the Town Council better understand local sporting provision, identify barriers to participation and explore how opportunities for women and girls can continue to grow in Hailsham. In recent weeks, the campaign has highlighted the work and achievements of local clubs and teams, including Hailsham Town FC Women, Hailsham Cricket Club’s Women’s Roses, Hailsham Tennis Club and Hailsham Bowling Club.

Town Mayor, Councillor Chris Bryant, said: “Women’s and girls’ sport is continuing to grow in Hailsham, and we want to make sure that this positive momentum continues.
There are already many fantastic clubs, teams, volunteers and facilities providing opportunities for women and girls to get involved, but it is important that we listen to our residents and understand what more can be done.” “We are now down to the final few weeks of the survey, so I would encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete it. You don’t have to be a regular participant in sport to have a view – whether you play, volunteer, support a family member or simply have an interest in local facilities and opportunities, we want to hear from you.” “Your feedback will help us understand what residents value, where there may be gaps and what people would like to see developed in the future.
