The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has outlined key arrangements for the 12th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), with the tournament scheduled to run from March 18 to May 2 across five to six cities.
A player auction has been set for January 23, while franchises will be permitted to make direct signings between October 23 and November 23. Under the new arrangement, each franchise can directly recruit one marquee player, provided the player did not feature in either of the previous two PSL seasons.

The decisions were taken at a meeting of the PSL Governing Council chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. PSL Chief Executive Salman Naseer, franchise representatives and other officials also attended.
A cricket workshop related to the league is planned for next week. The gold and silver events of the National T20 Cup will also be held before the PSL begins.

Naqvi described the league as a major platform for cricket in Pakistan, saying the 11th edition had attracted a record number of spectators. He said the PCB intended to build on that response by expanding the tournament to more cities.
Naseer said franchises had begun competing to assemble their squads for the upcoming season.
