Amritsar Soormas captain Naman Dhir delivered a remarkable innings of 173 runs from 64 balls during the second season of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League at the I.S. Bindra Punjab Cricket Association Stadium on Tuesday.
Dhir’s aggressive batting included 16 fours and 12 sixes, helping Amritsar Soormas set a formidable total of 279 runs in their 20 overs against Mohali Kings. He reached his century in just 37 balls during the 12th over and remained unbeaten until the end of the innings.

The Surmas batted first but faced an early setback as Sahaj Dhawan was dismissed for one run. Rahul Kumar, who entered at number three, also made a limited contribution, scoring 13 runs. Jashnpreet Singh scored 41 runs in a fluent knock to support the innings, but Dhir’s performance stood out as the innings highlight.
Dhir plays for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and made his debut with the franchise in 2024, appearing in seven matches. He continued to feature for Mumbai Indians during the 2025 and 2026 seasons, accumulating a total of 37 IPL appearances and 710 runs, including three half-centuries.
