LFP Media has agreed to a new broadcast partnership with JioStar, bringing Ligue 1 to Indian audiences during the 2026-27 season and giving the French top flight a significantly stronger distribution platform in one of the world’s most important emerging sports markets.
Under the agreement, JioHotstar will stream at least four Ligue 1 matches from every matchday, while selected fixtures will also be available across the Star Sports network.
The deal combines JioStar’s digital reach with its established television network, giving Ligue 1 exposure across both streaming and linear platforms. JioStar has built one of India’s largest sports-media ecosystems through major properties including the Indian Premier League, international cricket and a growing portfolio of global sporting rights.

The timing is particularly significant for Ligue 1, which enters the new season with a strong sporting proposition. Paris Saint-Germain remain the competition’s marquee club after establishing themselves as the dominant force in French football, while AS Monaco, Olympique de Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais, Lille OSC and other established clubs provide a competitive backdrop.
The league also continues to offer a pathway for elite young talent alongside established international stars. PSG’s global profile, combined with the presence of leading players across the competition, provides LFP Media with marketable sporting content capable of attracting both traditional football audiences and younger digital viewers.
The 2026-27 campaign also offers a succession of high-profile fixtures, particularly PSG’s meetings with Marseille, Monaco and Lyon, alongside other traditional rivalries and contests involving clubs competing for European qualification. These fixtures provide broadcasters with premium programming opportunities throughout the season rather than relying solely on one marquee team.

For JioStar, Ligue 1 adds a premium European football property to an already extensive sports portfolio. For LFP Media, the partnership provides a route to broaden the league’s Indian audience and strengthen its commercial proposition among sponsors and international brands.
The agreement forms part of LFP Media’s wider international strategy, with Ligue 1 set to be distributed across 215 territories through 53 broadcast partners and in 44 languages during 2026-27. The league has also reported a 30% increase in its international audience during the 2025-26 season.
With a combination of globally recognised clubs, emerging talent, major rivalries and a strong digital distribution platform, Ligue 1 enters its new Indian broadcast partnership with JioStar as a compelling addition to the country’s increasingly competitive international sports-rights market.
