Defending champions India booked their place in the final of the Asian Games Women’s T20 Cricket tournament with a convincing 114-run victory over Bangladesh in the second semi-final.
India will face Sri Lanka in the final on September 22 after producing an impressive batting display against Bangladesh.
Batting first, India scored 195 for four from their allotted 20 overs. Shafali Verma led the way with a superb century, scoring 100 runs from 49 deliveries. Her innings included nine sixes and three fours.
Harmanpreet Kaur also made a valuable contribution, scoring 40 runs with six fours.
Bangladesh struggled in their reply and were bowled out for 81 in 15.4 overs. Dilara Akter top-scored for Bangladesh with 27 runs.
India’s bowlers maintained control throughout the Bangladesh innings, with Nandani Sharma taking three wickets for 25 runs and Deepti Sharma claiming three wickets for seven runs.
The defending champions had earlier advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Japan by eight wickets in the quarter-final.
India will now meet Sri Lanka in the gold medal match on Tuesday (22).
