The committee will play a key role in talent identification and building bench strength for junior teams. Responsibilities include selecting squads fairly and transparently, scouting players during domestic and international matches, and contributing to team development for camps, tours and tournaments.
Members will also vet and choose coaches
Members will also vet and choose coaches and support staff such as physiotherapists, trainers, therapists, analysts and medical personnel for the junior teams. They will oversee team performance and development, prepare evaluation reports, and appoint captains across formats.
The committee will organise BCCI junior tournaments and overseas tours, in addition to handling matters related to team conduct and administration. Emphasising ethical values, members are expected to raise awareness of issues like drugs, betting and match-fixing through engagement with senior and former players.
Applicants must be former players who have participated in at least 25 First-Class matches and retired a minimum of five years ago. The BCCI’s Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations disqualify candidates who have served more than five cumulative years on any cricket committee from Junior Cricket Committee eligibility.
