The Pakistan Super League will enter its 12th edition next year, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirming that HBL PSL 12 will be staged from March 18 to May 2, 2027, as all eight franchises return for another battle for the coveted title
The tournament window was finalised following consultations with the league’s stakeholders and franchise representatives during the HBL PSL Governing Council meeting held in London on September 1. The announcement sets the stage for another major chapter in the rapidly evolving T20 competition. The previous edition proved a landmark season for the league, featuring eight teams for the first time and introducing a player auction in place of the traditional draft system. Peshawar Zalmi emerged champions in the 11th edition, defeating debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final at Gaddafi Stadium on May 3. The title ended Zalmi’s nine-year wait for PSL glory, while the final attracted a record crowd of 32,461 spectators.

With the dates now confirmed, attention will turn towards the key events that will shape the franchises’ squads for the new season. Direct signings, player retentions, the trade window and the player auction are expected to generate considerable interest as teams begin building their combinations.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said the previous season had demonstrated the league’s growing appeal and set a high benchmark for the next edition. “HBL PSL 11 showed the world what this league is capable of thrilling moments that had the whole nation transfixed, record crowds and record broadcasts,” Naqvi said. “HBL PSL 12 will raise the bar further.”

HBL PSL CEO Salman Naseer said the league would seek to build on the momentum generated by the previous season. “Last season changed what people expect from this league and we intend to meet every one of those expectations in 2027,” Naseer said.
