Kieron Pollard will represent the Joburg Super Kings (JSK) in the fifth season of the SA20, marking a significant change after over a decade of association with Mumbai Indians (MI) and its sister franchises. During the SA20 auction on October 7, 2026, Pollard was acquired by JSK, a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) sister franchise, for R1.5 million.
This move ends Pollard’s long-standing affiliation with MI, including playing for MI Cape Town in the SA20, MI New York in Major League Cricket (MLC), and MI Emirates in the International League T20 (ILT20). The SA20 league’s official Twitter account noted, “Joburg Super Kings immediately bids on Kieron Pollard and the bid goes unopposed. The West Indian will don the yellow at #BetwaySA20 for R1.5 million.”

To date, Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) have won the SA20 three times, with MI Cape Town winning once in 2025.
