Sameer Minhas, the Pakistan under-19 cricketer, has impressed teammates and opponents alike during the Pakistan Super League 2026 season. The right-handed batter emerged as one of the tournament’s promising young talents, catching the attention of established international players competing in the league.
Devon Conway, the New Zealand batter who represented Islamabad United, has spoken highly of his teammate’s abilities and potential. Conway identified Minhas as a standout performer among the younger generation of Pakistani cricketers in the competition.
“The first name that comes to mind is Sameer Minhas, a Pakistan U-19 player full of talent – a really classy right-handed batter,” Conway was quoted as saying by journalist Saj Sadiq on X.
Minhas’s PSL 2026 performance and first-class record
Minhas’s performance in PSL 2026 proved noteworthy, with the young batter scoring three half-centuries during the tournament. He finished the league phase with an average of 38.77, demonstrating consistency at the top of the order and middle order for his franchise. In one standout performance against Karachi Kings on April 16, Minhas scored 58 off 36 deliveries with 10 boundaries, showcasing his ability to play aggressive cricket while maintaining control.
Beyond the PSL, Minhas has also featured in first-class cricket. The 19-year-old accumulated 286 runs across four first-class matches, including three half-centuries, at an average of 47.66. These numbers reflected his ability to perform at a higher level of domestic competition and suggested a player capable of progressing through Pakistan’s cricket pathway.
Pakistan are searching for some young batters who can support the likes of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan in the national team. Minhas will be one of the batters to keep an eye on. The Multan-born batter has the skill sets needed to become an all-format cricketer.
In List A cricket, he has scored 53 runs at an average of 13.25. He would want to improve his performances in the 50-over format. However, his overall numbers in T20 cricket is quite impressive. In 13 matches, he has scored 373 runs at a strike rate of 151.01.
