LAHORE – Lahore Qalandars have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Guyana’s Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport to strengthen cricket development and create new opportunities for players and coaches through international collaboration. The agreement was signed by Lahore Qalandars owner and team director Sameen Rana, Guyana’s Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson, and Minister within the ministry Steven Jacobs. The partnership will establish a framework for cooperation in high-performance cricket, player and coach development, talent identification, technical exchange and the sharing of international best practices.
Under the agreement, the Guyana Cricket Board will serve as the ministry’s principal technical partner, providing expertise and support for the development and implementation of cricket-related programmes and initiatives.
Sameen Rana said the collaboration would enable Lahore Qalandars and their Guyanese partners to explore player and coach exchanges, high-performance training, coaching education and talent identification programmes.
The partnership will also examine opportunities to organise joint cricket camps, coaching clinics, youth development programmes and women’s cricket initiatives, aimed at strengthening pathways for emerging talent.
A key objective is to expose players and coaches to international standards, modern training methodologies and high-performance environments while promoting knowledge sharing between the two cricketing communities. As three-time Pakistan Super League champions, Lahore Qalandars have made player development a central part of their cricketing philosophy. Through their Player Development Programme and high-performance infrastructure, the franchise has focused on identifying, nurturing and providing opportunities to emerging players. The MoU represents a further expansion of the Qalandars’ international development activities and provides a platform for closer cricketing cooperation between Pakistan and Guyana.
