Shubman Gill shines in Sher-E-Punjab T20 debut for Fazilka Falcons

Opening the batting for the Falcons, Shubman Gill scored a 21-ball 40, embellished with seven fours and a six.

Indian Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill made his Sher-E-Punjab T20 league debut for Fazilka Falcons against Ludhiana Lions at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

Opening the batting for the Falcons, Gill scored a 21-ball 40, embellished with seven fours and a six.

The 26-year-old got going with a couple of fours against fellow Indian international Arshdeep Singh in the second over. He then took on Krish Bhagat, adding two more fours in the next over.

Gill added two more fours, against Sahil Bhaskar off the last two deliveries of the sixth over to help Falcons get to 62/2 at the end of the PowerPlay.

The right-handed batter got his only six of the innings against off-spinner Jassinder Singh. Gill was eventually dismissed by leg spinner Kartik Chadha in the 10th over. Later on, Falcons winded up with a first-innings total of 170/9.

Gill was recently in action for India in the two-Test series against Sri Lanka, which ended in a 1-0 win for the Men in Blue.
