India opener Smriti Mandhana has added another major record to her name. The left-handed batter has moved past New Zealand star Suzie Bates to become the second-highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket.
Mandhana achieved the milestone during India’s Women’s Asia Cup 2026 match against Thailand on Sunday. She scored 19 runs from 10 balls, hitting four boundaries.
Smriti Mandhana reaches 10,756 international runs
Mandhana’s 19-run knock took her international tally to 10,756 runs across Tests, ODIs and T20Is. The 30-year-old has been one of India’s most consistent batters across formats.
Her current international numbers include 788 Test runs, 5,411 ODI runs and 4,557 T20I runs. She has also collected several centuries and half-centuries during her international career.
Mandhana moves ahead of Suzie Bates
Before the match, Suzie Bates was second on the women’s international run-scoring list. Mandhana’s innings against Thailand helped her move ahead of the New Zealand batter.
Bates now sits third on the list with 10,740 runs. India legend Mithali Raj continues to hold the top position with 10,868 international runs.
Most international runs in women’s cricket
India thrash Thailand by 94 runs
Mandhana’s record came during India’s dominant win over Thailand in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026. India batted first and posted 159/9 in 20 overs.
Shafali Verma led the scoring with an explosive 64 off 36 balls. Pratika Rawal added 22, while Mandhana contributed 19 from 10 deliveries. Thailand’s Suliporn Laomi was their most successful bowler, taking three wickets.
India bowl Thailand out for 65
Thailand’s chase never got going. The Indian bowling attack bowled them out for just 65 runs in 16.1 overs.
Nanpat Kanchanaroenkai was the only Thailand batter to offer some resistance, scoring 41. Deepti Sharma produced a superb spell, taking three wickets without conceding a run.
Nandani Sharma also claimed three wickets for 18 runs. India eventually completed a convincing 94-run victory.
