South African Winger Makes CAF Debut In Sudan

South African-born winger Jean-Marc Samuel Luthando Moutsinga has taken another significant step in his young football career after making his CAF Confederation Cup debut with Sudanese club Al Ahli SC Wad Madani.

Moutsinga featured as Al Ahli Wad Madani drew 2-2 with Kenya’s Tusker FC in their CAF Confederation Cup encounter played at Kigali Stadium.

The 20-year-old, who was born in Johannesburg to a South African mother and Cameroonian father, joined Al Ahli after spells in South Africa and Europe, including experience with FK Frydek Mistek in the Czech Republic and a Liverpool FC academy camp.

In his June interview with Soccer Laduma, Moutsinga spoke about his determination to reach the professional level and eventually play for one of South Africa’s biggest PSL clubs.

He also revealed his ambition to represent Bafana Bafana, saying he was still pushing for a national-team call-up.

The return leg against Tusker FC will be played in Nairobi, Kenya, on Thursday, September 10, with Moutsinga now having a CAF appearance under his belt as he continues his journey towards the professional level he has long targeted.
