The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined the Pakistan Women’s team captain Fatima Sana 10% of her match fee following an aggressive send-off gesture directed at the Indian opener Shafali Verma during their Women’s Asia Cup 2026 clash in Dubai. The ICC ruled that this behavior violated Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which penalizes “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match”.
