Former Premier Soccer League (PSL) striker Lungisani Ndlela is counting on Mamelodi Sundowns striking duo Brayan León and Cassius Mailula to hit the 20-goal mark this season.
Ndlela believes either León or Mailula would end the season as the Betway Premiership top scorer.

Currently, AmaZulu’s Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya is sitting on five goals, followed by TS Galaxy marksman Victor Letsoalo (4), León (3), Stellenbosch’s new kid on the block Quwan Plaatjies (3) and Nqaba Xulu of Richards Bay (3).
León is a scoring machine, so he’s my
“León is a scoring machine, so he’s my obvious pick to win the award,” Ndlela told Soccer Laduma.
“For me, León and Cassius Mailula. It’d be between those two. Sundowns scores lots of goals, which tells you what to expect in terms of who would be up there,” he said.
In fact, Ndlela believes this could be the season to witness one of the strikers reaching the 20-goal mark.

León is more than capable of achieving
“León is more than capable of achieving that. He knows where the goalposts are that guy. It’s possible for León and Mailula to get there. They must just remain focused,” added Ndlela.
Notably, Peter Shalulile was the last striker to reach over twenty goals in a season when he netted 23 league goals during the 2021/22 season.
